Impact Mapping in Action

Impact Mapping in Action

Michael Body, Business Analyst at Inviqa

Impact Mapping is a simple yet incredibly effective technique that can be used for collaborative strategic planning and finding ways to make an impact with software. It helps to create better plans and roadmaps that ensure alignment of business and delivery, and they are easily adaptable to change.

The method fits nicely into several current trends in software product management and release planning, including goal-oriented requirements engineering, frequent iterative delivery, agile and lean software methods, lean startup product development cycles, and design thinking. It provides a great way of finding different routes to achieving goals which aren’t always apparent until you start collaborating and working through the process.

In this workshop, Mike will provide an overview of the impact mapping technique, referencing real examples from his experience with clients at Inviqa. After that, we will put the theory into action and create working impact maps for your projects or initiatives.
